Lauren Villanueva is an Associate Clinical Social Worker, born and raised in New York City. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Deviant Behavior and Social Control from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master’s of Social Work from Adelphi University.
Lauren brings 10 years of experience working in healthcare with complex populations suffering from a wide range of physical and mental health diagnosis. Her experience also includes treating post-traumatic stress disorder, postpartum depression, trauma, anxiety, and comorbid conditions. Lauren’s extensive experience have allowed her to have excellent skills in de-escalating crisis situations. She has also gained various experience working with domestic violence victims, in correctional and mental health facilities, as well as with foster care youth.
Lauren is passionate about mental health and enjoys advocating for clients. She is interested in helping clients to identify their strengths and overcome challenges. Lauren strives to help her clients gain clarity and recognize their own patterns to guide them through a path of understanding and recovery. She believes clients hold the key to their own healing, and is here to work in partnership and support clients on their journey.
In Lauren’s spare time she enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time on the beach. Lauren also volunteers in helping to feed the homeless population.
