Lona is a caring and empathic clinician that specializes in working with couples, grief and loss, and substance use disorders. Lona has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in couples and family therapy, with over 25 years of experience navigating the changes of life within the family and individual dynamic. She is a trauma informed clinician who has extensive experience supporting clients that experience distress from trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral & emotional dysregulation and co-occurring conditions.
Lona’s approach to therapy generally focuses on utilizing evidence-based treatment including motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, solution focused brief therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. She understands that life can be difficult at times, and she is deeply committed to supporting individuals and couples from all backgrounds to help them embrace the healing and restoration they desire. Utilizing a trauma informed lens, guided by empathy and openness, she facilitates the journey of unearthing your own empowering elements to navigate through challenges and hardship with grace.
Lona loves cross-country road trips, she also enjoys movie and game night with her family, reading, horseback riding, walk therapy, and her heart’s desire is to visit all the zoos across the nation!
