Tatiana T. Melendez is a Licensed Psychotherapist and Clinical Sexologist/Sex Therapist based in Southern California. As the visionary founder and CEO of TTM Counseling & Psychotherapy Services, Inc., Ms. Melendez has dedicated her career to providing accessible mental health services to individuals, groups, children, couples, and families. She holds two master’s degrees: a Master of Social Work and a Master of Arts in Behavioral Science with a specialization in Negotiation and Conflict Management. Her extensive education, combined with her personal and professional experiences, has shaped her into a compassionate and effective practitioner.
With over 25 years of experience, Ms. Melendez has honed her expertise in strength-based, culturally competent therapeutic practices in behavioral and mental health treatment. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and integrates her understanding of the biological, emotional, cognitive, and social determinants of behavior to develop practical solutions tailored to her clients' unique needs. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Humanistic principles, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, promoting self-awareness and emotional growth in diverse populations.
As a Clinical Sexologist and Sex Therapist, Ms. Melendez specializes in helping clients navigate complex issues related to intimacy, sexual health, and relationships. She provides therapy for individuals and couples addressing concerns such as sexual dysfunction, desire discrepancies, sexual trauma recovery, and exploration of sexual identity and orientation. Her nonjudgmental and empathetic approach creates a safe space for clients to discuss sensitive topics, fostering healthier communication and deeper connections. Additionally, she offers psychoeducation on sexual wellness and intimacy enhancement, equipping clients with tools to improve their overall sexual health and relationship satisfaction.
Ms. Melendez specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges such as depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, grief, post-traumatic stress disorder, abuse, neglect, sexual trauma, and comorbid conditions. She also provides guidance to parents and families navigating life stressors, fostering resilience and empowerment. Beyond her clinical work, Ms. Melendez is deeply committed to her community. She actively participates in organizations such as B2B (Blessed to be a Blessing) Support Services Inc. and the National Association of Social Workers. She also leads TTM Institute, Inc., promoting mental health awareness and education. In her free time, Ms. Melendez enjoys traveling, reading, bike riding, and spending quality time with her family, especially her daughter.
